IHG® Culinary Panel

The IHG Culinary Panel’s Culinary Journey is coming to Gusti Restaurant! Over the next four months (17th August – 15th November) Gusti will be serving three different menus crafted by IHG Culinary Ambassadors: a group of incredibly talented award-winning chefs. Each menu is a creative expression of the chef’s individual culinary journey.

Chef Vikas Khanna

The first chef to be showcased at Gusti Restaurant is Chef Vikas Khanna. Chef Vikas is an award winning Indian chef, food writer and humanitarian. His Culinary Journey started in Amritsar, India, where surrounded by large family feasts he learned the intricacies of Indian cuisine from his grandmother. He is host of MasterChef India and has appeared on programs such as the Martha Stewart Show and Hell’s Kitchen. In 2014 he made a guest appearance on MasterChef Australia.

His restaurant Junoon is located in New York and was awarded a Michelin star. Vikas leads a number of humanitarian causes and in recognition of this; he was invited to cook for President Obama. The President even went so far to say Vikas was the ‘Taj Mahal of Indian food’”.

From Monday the 17th August until Sunday the 20th September you are invited to taste Chef Vikas’s specially crafted menu at Gusti Restaurant. Diners have the choice of 2 courses or 3, when you dine on the 3 course menu, receive a second glass of complimentary wine after the first is purchased.

Appetisers

Piri Piri Shrimp
Tiger prawn cutlets tossed in a spicy tangy sauce avocado raita

Mains

7-Spice Lamb Shank
Slow braised lamb shank in aromatic 7 spices, served with steamed rice and yoghurt relish

Desserts

Masala Chai Brulée
Smooth creamy brulée infused with Indian tea leaves and green cardamon

 

Fun Fact: Chef Vikas Khanna was voted ‘New York’s Hottest Chef’ by the New York Eater!
