1. Springtime at Araluen

Discover Perth’s largest display of Tulips and other vibrant wildflowers during this spring. This year, they have a blooming 150,000 Tulips, 20,000 Daffodils, 4,000 Hyacinths and many more colourful flower arrangements. Araluen Botanic garden is a beautiful location for a picnic or an eventful day out with the family. Visit the Araluen gift shop and pick out up your own tulip to take home in a pot.

2. Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest has come to Perth! This traditional Bavarian beer festival is a fun filled day packed with beer halls, authentic German food stalls, silent disco, live performances and many more activities. Oktoberfest is held on the grass at Langley Park, just across from the Crowne Plaza Hotel, which gives you a brilliant excuse for an overnight stay.

3. Kings Park Festival

Visit Australia’s largest celebration of wildflowers at King’s Parks and Botanic Garden. The King’s Park Festival has a range of extraordinary activities and events including a free guided walk, outdoor exhibitions, musicians and performers in the middle of a beautiful wildflower display. 4. Perth Royal Show

The Perth Royal Show is a perfect opportunity for a fun filled day out with the family.  Including entertainment for everyone with adrenaline packed rides, delicious food, show bags and a petting zoo full of farm animals. The Royal Show is held during the school holidays and is a perfect way to entertain the kids.  The Royal Show also caters for adults during the night as it transforms into a perfect date night or night out with friends. Spring Whale watching

5. Whale Watching

Western Australia has one of the longest whale watching seasons in the world. In May you can find them near Flinders Bay in Augusta. From July to October you will see them playing in the seas near Albany and Perth cost line. Further North the humpback whales reach Exmouth, Coral Bay and Broome between June and November. The migration is the largest in the southern hemisphere with approximately 35,000 whales including about 3,000 calves.

6. The Perth Mint

Visit Australia’s largest, precious metals enterprise that manufactures and distributes gold, silver and platinum all around the world. Perth Mint is one of the largest precious metals exporters, distributing up to $18 billion worth of pure gold, silver and platinum. With over 100 years of historic services, this is the perfect tourist destination. Perth Mint is only a short walk down from the Crowne Plaza Hotel, on Hay Street, East Perth. Book a tour for the grand heritage walk, entrance to the gold exhibition and a gold pouring demonstration in the original 1899 melting house.

Soak up the atmosphere at the Perth spring racing season with the exciting Crown Perth Opening Day at Ascot Racecourse, filled with fashion, fun and fillies. Take in the trackside action, have a little flutter on the horses, check out the “fashions on the field” and enjoy the fine food and pop up bars.

8. The Perth Color Run

Join the “happiest 5,000 meters on the planet” at this year’s Color Run at the Claremont Showgrounds. This Charity Event requires participants to dress in white, and each kilometre mark they are covered head to toe in different coloured powder. This great opportunity allows every participant to raises funds and awareness for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
