Violets are blue and we’ve got something just for you…. Valentine’s Day falls on Saturday 14th February 2015. So it’s the perfect opportunity to spend the weekend in Perth city and rekindle your love. Dinner for two, hot air balloon tour, river cruise, segway adventure, picnic at Kings Park… Regardless of what you have (or have not) organised, chocolate and flowers are always a crowd pleaser. With this in mind we went and saw our friends at A Touch of Class Florist to find out the what’s on their agenda for Valentine’s Day this year.
What’s the most popular gift?
Long stemmed red roses without a doubt! Last year it was the flat presentation box accompanied with sparkling wine and Lindt chocolates that was most popular.
For those not wanting to send roses, what would you suggest?
We have a wide range of seasonal flowers available at this time of year. Ordering a florist choice bouquet enables our team to flex their creative skills and whip up a beautiful gift. We have also added a new section to our site to include a stunning range of handmade terrariums for something a little quirkier!
Do you have black roses, what do they mean?
We do not stock a true “Black” rose. This year we will be stocking the stunning Prestige rose, grown locally here in WA. It is a velvety, deep rich red rose, luxurious in appearance.
What’s the most amount of flowers any one person has sent on Valentine’s Day ?
The most memorable was a gentleman planning to propose who ordered 250 long stemmed roses to be placed all around the house for his beloved.
As cheeky as this may be but have you had any one person send out multiple Valentine’s gifts?
Well…perhaps…however as we operate under the cloak of discretion, I couldn’t possibly divulge such information
As a safe bet, the answer is always red roses (maybe 300 long stemmed roses to be precise). The handmade terrariums sound interesting for those wanting something a little different. You can jump online at A Touch of Class Florist to see their selection of products and prices all featured under the heading Valentines Day. Their cut off for Valentine’s Day orders will be Friday 13th February at 12pm, with orders already coming in they advise – sooner the better!
